Steve Cohen's Sweet Treat
This is a torn and restored sugar packet with an added
bonus: during the course of the restoration, the sugar is poured into your fist and found
back in the sealed packet which has been resting on the table. No switches.
You will need two sugar packets. Carefully tear off
the end of one and place it over the other packet's folded end. Pour the sugar into a
thumbtip and discard the rest of the packet.
To perform show the packet and carefully use your
thumb to cover the rough edges of the extra piece. Pretend to tear open the sugar packet
but really just "rip" off the extra end and toss it onto the table. This is
suppose to look like you tore the end off; now leave the thumbtip behind the sugar packet.
Next, pour the sugar from the thumbtip into an
ashtray. It will look like the sugar is actually coming out of the packet. Ask the spec to
taste it. as he does this, casually take the torn end and place it inside the thunmbtip;
if he even notices, it will look like you are placing it inside the sugar packet. Then
toss the packet onto the table.
Pour the sugar into your fist, and place the thumbtip
back onto your thumb. Show that the sugar has vanished, and then point to the sugar
packet. When he picks it up, he will not only discover that it has restored itself, but
that the sugar has somehow returned inside the packet!
